I am in DESPERATE need of a cheap rat cage in derby. Freddy 2 or similar. Size is not too important as it's for a single, lazy boy.

I have 7 days or he has to be given up.

I was also going to suggest freecycle.
You could always convert a bird cage, so worth keeping your options open
Have you any car boot sales still going on around you, normally hardstanding ones carry on a little longer into the year than the ones on fields
Have a look through freeads, preloved, adtrader, gumtree, clickpets etc
Have you tapped "cage derbyshire" into your google search engine.
Can't think of anything else right now.

While in many areas Freecyel is stil a good option the Derby area you are best trying derbyfreegle.

Most of the established larger Freecyle groups in the UK (over 200) left the Freecycle network and renamed themselves Freegle over the last month or so (the management style of their US based team was getting a bit hard to cope with) and established a new UK network called Freegle.

This means in a lot of towns and cities the main group is now Freegle and though replacement freecycle groups have been set up they are often now managed from the USA and have far fewer members and items offered than the corresponding Freegle Group.
