Re: Rat cage for sale £40!

I had that cage and there is no way u can fit 4-5 rats in it! Its barley big enough for 2 adults. I typed the measurements into rat cage calculator when I had that. Soon got rid of it as it's only suitable for a Syrian hamster.
that cage is
height-60cm
width-64cm
depth-33cm

I bought a second hand freddy rat cage with shelf 80cm x 50cm x 63cm for £10

Re: Rat cage for sale £40!

Without meaning to sound horrible, why are you getting another rat when you can barely afford the ones you have now?
Doesn't seem fair on the rats if you ask me.
You said on your other thread that you pretty much have no income and after £40 vet bill you cant afford to eat unless you sell stuff (or something along those lines)
So how are you going to afford yet another mouth to feed. What if all your rats get ill at the same time and need medication or operations.

I would stick with just the 4 you have. Treat them to some toys and hammock, kit their cage out with more than they have already.

I agree with this 100% and tbh you will be hard pushed to sell it for £40

Re: Rat cage for sale £40!

I only have 2 baby rats and seeing how much they like to run around I wouldn't even put them in a cage like that.

Re: Rat cage for sale £40!

Thank you for some of your advice, even if some of you sound abrasive about the matter. Though thank you for the ones who aren't actually trying to be horrible and only care about my ratties.

The cage on Amazon; do not buy it. Its the £45 big one (which is now randomly £69?) which I WAS saving for up there. Not only does it rust fast but it has also been reported that it has caused bumblefoot and nasty infections to rats. Its a nasty cage, and I wont be buying it.

Instead, I will be buying a £115 five story anti rust discoverer cage on monday that stands at 1 metre 7, and it is extremely beautiful.

In case your wondering how I got money for this, when it comes to my rats, I will get money from ANYWHERE, because my boys deserve the best. So I magically got money so I could buy them a huge cage!

EDIT: If you ARE curious as to how I got the money... lets just say I am a bit of an artist, and someone was interested in my work.

Though I do thank some of you for your concern. But my rats will always come before me. I live with a member of the national rat society, so together we are investing in huge cages for our boys. I can't wait to pick mine up monday!

And here is the cage in question;

3 tier ferret cage by Doghealth: Amazon.co.uk: Pet Supplies

It was under the title of a 'rat cage' for £45 , but now has become relabelled as a 'ferret cage' for £69 for some reason......
