Re: Metal wheels for sale - £25 with videos

I have sold one wheel through this forum so far and quite a few through pre-loved and a degu forum.

I currently have 2 wheels ready to go out.

Hiya Kat, I seem to be stalking you on different forums. I am well impressed by your wheel and would like to buy one. just need your details and I can send you payment in your preferred way. I haven't got my degus yet but am kitting out my cage in preparation for their arrival. I have seen how difficult it is to get a metal wheel so am very grateful for those like you who use their initiative as I am useless and lazy at DIY. Please reply. thanks,M

Re: Metal Degu wheels for sale - £25 with videos

Hi Liana,

We have yet to find a quiet Degu wheel (all the ones we have tried so far have been plastic). Is your wheel quiet, it sounds it in the video?

If it is we would be interested in buying one.

Thanks.

L.

Re: Metal wheels for sale - £25 with videos

you could get the dog bowls cheaper or cake tins on ebay to use?
but i have to say i would have no clue how to do the fixings and stuff so it would work and wouldnt make a awful noise, the only commercially available degu solid wheels (which they have to have to prevent bumblefoot) ive ever found anywhere are £50 being the cheapest,so these really are a bargain compared to those or a massive vets bill. also a degu will get years of enjoyment and use.
well worth it if you ask me Il be ordering one on payday

I'm pretty sure that I have replied to you via pre-loved but please let me know if not and I will pm you here.

I can do them in a few sizes but the most common for degus is the 13.5" this is £25. If you click back to page 1 on this thread you should see a few photos and a couple of videos of the wheels in action.

The wheels are silent apart for the patter of degu feet. I did try a plasic wheel very eary on in owning degus. Mine lasted a week, as you can probably guess I was quite annoyed.
The degus then chewed through 3 wooden wheels, grr. I made a few of these then people began to ask about me making them to sell and here we are.

Hi, The 13.5 and 14" are made from dog bowls and the 16" is a cake tin. The reason that I can sell them at this price is because I buy quite a few of everything at once to bring the price down. Not quite in bulk, but 20 to 30 sets of the fixings at a time.
Before starting to make these wheels I was looking into getting a few of John Hopewell wheels but was really struggling with the price and him actually having any in stock.

Because of being offline I am a bit behind with my messages and ordering parts. If anyone would like a wheel I would be happy to make them but I wont be able to make any for about a week. If you are interested you can also contact me on deguwheel@hotmail.co.uk and I will get back you personally ASAP

I hope that this answers all of the quiestions and that I haven't babbled on too much

Kat

Re: Metal wheels for sale - £25 with videos

Hello,

I would like to buy a couple of these please - can you do a discount / combined postage at least (I'd like to get two of different sizes)?

I made one using a cake tin but found the metal was a bit thin - it started off silent, then made a creaking noise and finally fell to bits! (4 degus mounted a joint offensive!). Your dog bowl idea is much better.

Can you message me with your details please?

Thanks

Ant
