Question Advice on Dwarf Hamsters... Please :)

Hi, I'm new to the site and I'm planning to buy some Dwarf Campbell's Russian Hamster's .
I've read loads about them already and have purchased a plastic cage (without bars) including a wheel, food bowl and water bottle in preparation.

I was just wondering what people who own Russian's think about keeping them in pairs? Because I've read that they enjoy to live in groups and it is known to shorten their life span if they are solitary... But I've also read that they're perfectly happy on their own and can fight with others if grouped together.
I just want to make sure that when I buy a hamster/hamsters that they are as happy as they can be

All other advice regarding their care is welcome
Thanks.

Re: Advice on Dwarf Hamsters... Please :)

It depends on the hamster, some love company, while others will hate it!

If you do decide to get a pair make sure you have 2 wheels and 2 houses, and make sure the food bowl is good enough for them both to sit in.

I found a really good article onthe internet about successfully housing pairs together, I'll send it to you in a pm
