Poor gerbils!! It's a good thing that you got to them when you did, at least now the rest of them will have a proper home

Re: Ive never been so discusted!
What I can see Ive got:
2 Adult Males 2 Adult Females 1 Baby Female 2 Baby Males But in the large cage I got given it had the two adult males and 1 adult female, so is there a chance she is pregnant? And which ones shall I put in which cage as I've only got 2 cages for them.. But the other female gerbil is with its three babies which I'm guessing are around 4/5 weeks old. Any help anyone.. I also have my two orginal gerbils, which are in their own cage. 1 is a adult female and the other a adult male. Last edited by taytay93; 12-03-2010 at 04:37 PM.. Reason: More detail |

yes there is every chance she is pregnant! sorry cant help with the rest! Its been a long long time since i had gerbils!
I am not sure what age you need to split the baby males off... someone will be along to help! Otherwise its gonna mean that the baby girls and the mum will be preggers again... from the baby males!

Re: Ive never been so discusted!
I use to breed gerbils about 4 years ago but I sold my breeding pair and moved onto hamsters. I brought 2 gerbils about 3 months ago from two different pet shops to make sure they wernt related, as I want to start breeding them again. But when I saw these gerbils up for adoption I couldn't say no. But I really don't know what to do with them.. Also if the girls are pregnant the babies may be born with disabilites.. Lets just hope someone comes along, I'm going to see what the pet shop tells me what to do.. But also I think gerbils don't show signs of pregnancy until about a week or so before the birth..
