Varies from rat to rat, ideally they should fade gradually and steadily until the mature, Boyrat seemed to go from the top colour to the bottom within a week at about 6 months old

He/she is a random rat off a random site but if I ever get another rat this would be the ideal I might just paint a blaze on Fidget, now where did I put that tipex.
this could be a badger, they aren't very common but very pretty

Quite a few blazed rats turn up in rescues too...this girl did, along with 4 other blazed littermates
