Not Happy!

I think somone has stolen a package that was in the alleyway next door to my house with all new ratty stuff in it... about £30's worth of stuff mad:

DPD said they put it in there but when I checked today its not there. I suppose its my fault because I told them to put it in there....but still some bastard has robbed my parcel....

Any ideas what I can do?

Obviously the guy didn't shut the door properly because when I cam home it opened itself and thats what reminded me that a parcel should be in there.

Do you think i have a claim?

Re: Not Happy!

Omg thats awful!!

I have no idea how you would go about claiming it back... i hope you can though

When I ordered some stuff I wasn't here and the delivery person put it in our recycling box which was just out on the pavement in front of our house.... not the safest place in our area!!! Then another time they gave it to a neighbour but never left a note saying they had done that so the neighbour came round ages afterwards and said that they had my parcel still

I bet the theif saw the man put it in the alleyway and then went back to get it

Re: Not Happy!

my sister had some boots nicked because some plonker had left them in the "porch" we dont even have a porch its an alley way that runs under the house, in full view of the street and everyone at the park opposite. she never got her money back because it was through River Islands courier. Fingers crossed you will be able to make a claim. I would report it stolen first and get a police reference no, you could also see if ur house insurance would cover it.

Re: Not Happy!

Their word against yours.
You have no proof they actually put it there - nobody signed for it... no proof it ever arrived.

I'd be onto them to say it had never come, and if they can't prove it did get delivered then that's their problem.

Its probably earier to pop a parcel into your bag and walk off with it. I get the postman to put parcels in out recycling bin if Im not in but our road is very quiet so not much chance of a passing thief noticing. Hope it either turns up or you get a refund hun, its horrible when you have been waiting for something to turn up then it doesnt.

Re: Not Happy!

Was there a tracking number on the parcel? You could phone the royal mail or whoever brought it and ask if they did drop it off at your address, if they did, i'd phone the police and report stolen property.

I know there's not much they'll do about it but at least it's been reported.

Re: Not Happy!

check it's not in someone elses alleyway or that a neighbour or flat mate hasn't moved it first.

then get back on the phone to the courier and say that it's not arrived, and to check with their driver exactly where he left it.

we've had one delivery driver say to a mate of mine that he'd tried to deliver the package but no-one was in and he'd left a card to say that he'd missed us.. then delivered it the next day. My husband was in, downstairs and the front door is 5 meters from where he sits, there was no card etc..I phoned up to ask about it and was told that the driver had been running late and hadn't even made it to our area!!! so don't take them at their word.
