Re: How long did it take

mine all know their names.

some are slower than others to react to their names, so yours probably know that that's what you refer to them as but just don't react. once they're happier with what's going on and see the other 2 getting more fun when they react etc they will to, timid rats always take a bit longer to do anything, though they pick it up just as quickly.

aw sevepets, you should talk more to your ratties, they will quickly learn instructions too so you will get more enjoyment out of them. getting them used to their names means you can given them into trouble without the rest of your brood panicking, and also means you can call one rat to you if you want to give it medicine or a special treat etc. it also makes them easier to catch if the escape, if you get them used to coming to their names then they will almost always automatically do it if they escape.

Mine come out to play seperately still cos I am still getting to know thier personalities and while they are out I use their name a lot, also out with mummy time is combined with treat time so when I call them and they come they usually get a treat for doing so. The others can see and hear this but they dont respond to each others name so I think they do know their own name.
