Re: What do you feed your rats?

mine get a dry mix on tap and for dinner they have a mix of peas, corn , egg, pasta, four bean mix , and a bit of tuna or ham etc, and a bit of whatever we eat. I alternate my freezeable mix with a variety of vegies. My rattys also have weet bix or cornflakes for brekky. And baby custard or ice cream for an occasional dessert.

Re: What do you feed your rats?

I make a dry mix made up of
Rat muesli
Rat nuggets
Oats
Bran Flakes
Mini Weetabix
Pasta
Dry dog food

They get as much of this as they want to eat.

They also get some item of fruit or veg each day and treats of things like tuna or scrambled egg and they often end up having a little bit of my dinner if its something suitable.

Re: What do you feed your rats?

Mine are on the Shunamite Diet but they also have raw vegetables such as broccoli, carrots, kale, cauliflower, sprouts & for treats they have a bit of fish, a fruit salad, bits of spaghetti, live yoghurt, malt paste, yoggies, a chicken wing & loads of other stuff, just not citrus fruit or processed food. If they are unwell or recovering from an operation I make them up a bowl of Brown Rice Booster- it really seems to help with their recovery

Re: What do you feed your rats?

P@H Rat Muslei mixed with Burns chicken and rice, they have a chicken bone every now and then and then whatever is left over from tea (as long as not too salty/sweet ect) also am trying to make the youngest a little more tame and am giving him a tiny bit of baby food on a spoon twice a day to get him used to me.

Re: What do you feed your rats?

Mine have a dry mix (shunamite diet) made from:

Alpha Herbal Deluxe rabbit food
Harrisons Banana Brunch rabbit food
Burns Chicken and Brown Rice dog kibble
Weetabix
Shredded Wheat
Wholewheat Pasta Twirls (raw)
Rice Krispies
Plain Rice Cakes
Ryvitas

and they get supplemented with either sweetcorn, pea, salmon (weekly), or cous-cous with veg in it, or mealworms (a few weekly).
