I know reptiles need to eat. I don't disagree with it. Just the picture is not nice. I thought maybe this was not allowed on Ebay that is all.

I doubt it is. But when you scroll through the listings for frozen rats/mice it stands out.

A good sales feature.

Re: :( Ebay

I don't think they should be sold on ebay, only in reptile shops and by breeders.

Re: :( Ebay

I feed my cats raw and 20 for £6 is a bargain I'm afraid. Still I don't think they needed to post that picture like that it is untasteful.. as is auctioning dead animals..

My problem with it would be this.. where did these rats actually come from? Have they actually been cared for and killed "humanely"?

I love rats and adore rats but there are companies that breed rats/mice for sale to pet shops for reptile feed. I like to feed prey to my cats as part of a raw diet as it its a perfectly balanced natural meal for them.

I'm just glad the poor things arn't floating around in the post.

*Edit* Ill just add too I'd much rather buy rats/mice that have come from as a humane source as possible and not a suspicious one !! :

Re: :( Ebay

defiantly not very tasteful when your searching for new toys to keep your pet rats entertained. I would hope that there is some government agency who monitor how these rats are killed, however think it is unlikely that if they do exist this person is abiding to any rules. They look very "whole" to me which would suggest either electrocution, starvation, poison, gas or frozen? sorry if thats too much info I do over analyse

They will have either been gased or had their necks broken.

Re: :( Ebay

It could be just one person with a basement full of rat cages churning them out. Not even giving any care for their animal welfare and making sure they have a good quality of life while they are a live. Makes me very mad. What a terrible thing to come up when your searching for rat things too!!

Re: :( Ebay

Its legal but a very distasteful pic! and awful thing to find when searching for things for your pet rats.
Reptiles do need to eat but surely someone with reptiles would rather buy from a trusted seller?!
