What sort of hammy is this?

This is my friends hamster i looked after, i took no interest in him but he was gorgeous. I really want another hamster as i have looked everything up etc and can do alot of things to make his life happy!
He had quite long fur.
Sorry there bad pictures, his name was Chocolate (R.I.P)

Really, wow i thought syrians had short thick hair, he has long thin hair.

Syrians come in different colours and you can have long haired or short haired. Syrians are the largest breed of hamster available and you can easily tell the difference between them and the dwarf breeds because they are a lot bigger.
