Tell her that if it stinks your room out...you will rehome it. Then clean it out twice and week and it won't. By which time, your mum will have fallen love with it!! Failing that, do what most other people do....just get one anyway!! hehe x

Re: I want some mice or hammys or rats! :(

Hammies probably won't stink at all... but some people think they do, when all they are really smelling is the bedding.

Mice do pong a bit especially males.
Ratties do have a smell too.

Re: I want some mice or hammys or rats! :(

I had 3 mice when i was little, around 8 but i didnt take no interest in them and obviously my dad cleaned them out etc.
Now im 16 and TDM and other people is soo convincing me into getting ratties, mice or hammies!
I have had loads of good offers with cages etc.. Told my mum and she just says "no end of conversation".. She must really hate rodents
Whenever we go to the Pet Warehouse i would go look at them and bring my mum over she just replies "aww aint they sweet" then goes to the counter to pay for the stuff shes got.

As long as you clean out regularly (remove poos and wees daily), then they won't smell.

Re: I want some mice or hammys or rats! :(

Yes I think Hammies are the least smelly and maybe a dwarf one like a Russian is your best bet. Robos and Chinese do have a smell to them I think.
Tell her to come on here and we will convince her.
If you have a Syrian I have heard that the male ones aren't as smelly as the females although if you clean the cage twice a week I doubt you would smell anything to be honest.

Re: I want some mice or hammys or rats! :(

Hmm most definate likely my mum will say a nono to ratties Which is what i wan the most. But oh well..
Ive had 3 mice before but they escaped because we had a wrong cage for them. I think we had a hamster cage with big gaps between the bars
Ive had plenty of hamsters when i was little but took no interest in them, just got them out for like 5mins a day nd let them in there ball for a hour or so and cleaned them out regulary.. Never thought of making them a toy or a run.
Ive had loads of offers on hamsters mice and rats.. Mice the most. But i really need an idea of something to convince her
I dont think my mum would like it on here, her addict is facebook
But ill ask her!

Re: I want some mice or hammys or rats! :(

If smell is the only issue, get a litter tray, clean it out once every 2 days and problem solved, you will only need to clean the cage once a week, and because ratties are so good with a litter tray, cleaning the cage is easy
Problem solved
