Florence's cage

I am just wondering what is best to put down on the bottom of her cage. I have got sawdust down at the minute and I am going to to p@h tomorrow so any advice would be great.

Re: Florence's cage

I like carefresh, i only switched from sawdust/shavings to carefresh because I thought my hamster was allergic to the sawdust, but I find it a lot less messy as you don't have dust flying around everywhere

It is expensive though... so I use it sparingly lol

Re: Florence's cage

I have always used woodshavings as I've never had a problem with them really. There is something called Megazorb that you can use for small animals too and you can get it from horse food suppliers.

Re: Florence's cage

well i use 3 different types as i have long haired hammies, i use shavings for the dwarfs and 3 syrians but then with my two long haired syrians one has hemp and one has natures-best as they have a different type of long hair (one seems softer than the other and everything seems to get matted in his hair)

they are all really good options, ive also used care-fresh which is good but i find that natures-best is simliar and a cheaper option

hope that helps

Re: Florence's cage

I like woodshavings personally. Never tried carefresh or megazorb because to my area they wanted an extra £18 delivery which I just wasn't willing to pay!

Re: Florence's cage

I use CareFresh. I refuse to use Yesterday's News because it's made by Purina and they test on animals.
