Should I worry? :(

Sausage is still making the funny popping noise... i have just been watching him and it seems to be when he breathes in that he makes the noise... not sure what it is though!

The thing is he seems perfectly fine otherwise... in a way I wish he would look more ill if he is ill as then I would take him to the vet straight away!! I don't know what it is... he does it when he is cuddled up to me and marcus so we wondered if it was the equivalent to a cat purring or something... but I've never noticed him making this noise before

I don't want to be a bad owner by not taking him to the vet but he really seems perfectly fine apart from the popping!!!

That's what I wondered... but I thought if he had something like that he would be off his food and stuff? I don't know what the rattle breathing sounds like that rodents get with a respiratory infection so I don't know if thats what it is or not!

When rats have respiratory infections they're still on their food (I've found anyway). I'd take him to the vets just to be sure

Peace

Akai Chan when your rats have had respiratory infections, do they make the rattle sound all the time or just sometimes?

Some of the time, they tend to make it when they get excited I think.
