sleep with their eyes open?

Its just mine do,I think, because whenever they are curled up and looking like they are sleeping, they have their eyes open, and I don't know whether that is normal or not.

Mine sleep with their eyes shut, but I'm sure I've heard that some type of animal does sleep with it's eyes open but I can't remember if it's a rat or not.

My dominant male rat will snooze with his eyes partially open sometimes....keeping a look out for predators perhaps?

i used to have a rat that did that thought he was dead untill i poked him he was in a deep sleep i think
