Advice on advertising

This is my first litter of baby rats, and I have had a fair bit of interest, but was wondering the best place to advertise baby rats
I have put notices up in pet shops, and in the local newsagents but was wondering how you guys advertise your babies
Hope you don't mind me asking, only got another 1 and a half befor ethey are ready to go to new homes.

Re: Advice on advertising

I advertised mine on preloved and snagged people on here who were looking for ratties Through email ask them lots of questions if they respond to your adverts, such as what type of cage they have and what bedding they will use and what food they will feed. Make sure they really know their stuff before they go to new homes. Personally I won't sell my rats to anyone who I don't like the sound of, or who doesn;t know their stuff or is obnoxious or rude about answering questions.

Another important question to ask is WHY they want rats. If it is for children (It is coming up to christmas after all) I'd be hesitant to sell them to that person. If they are for kids, ask to meet the kids and parents first and make sure the kids know what they're doing and that tyhe parents are happy to take on the responsibility of having them if or when the kids get bored of them.

If you have any questions just PM me

Peace
Akai-Chan

Re: Advice on advertising

Double check about reptiles too. Do they have any snakes?

If you don't want them going as snake food or to bred for that purpose then you need to ask them about reptiles.

Don't panic too much though because there are snake owners (like myself) who keep rodents on the side and not for the purpose of feeding to snakes
I would never feed any of my gerbils to my snake...never ever!

Re: Advice on advertising

Thank you for the advice.
Thats one thing I have pointed out on ads, these rats are for pets only.
I will let the new owners know I am happy to take back any rats irrelevant of the reason why.
