Guinea Pigs off their hay

My guinea pigs don't seem to want to eat their hay at the moment. Both of them used to eat loads of it until a few days ago when I got a new bag of it (from the same place I usually get it) and the hay looked different from what they had been having previously it was much shorter and greener strands than what I was using before. I tried them on it for a couple of days but they would hardly touch it. I then went to a different pet shop and got some hay that looked far more like what they had been given before, but they don't seem to want to eat it either. They are still eating their pellets, muesli and their fresh veg fine and are drinking as normal it seems to be the hay they wont eat. Should I be concerned?

Re: Guinea Pigs off their hay

Just been to a pet store and they said that I could be feeding them too much veg and dried food so theyre not eating as much hay. They get fresh veggies 3 to 4 times a day but not usually very much at any one time. Is this a possibility or are they talKing rubbish?

Re: Guinea Pigs off their hay

i TEND TO GIVE MY PIGGIES FRESH FRUIT AND VEG AROUND 3 TIMES DAILY AND THEY HAVE A BOWL OF DRIED PELLETS BUT THEY WILL STILL NIBBLE ON THE HAY. iS THERE A CHANCE ITS GONE A BIT MUSTY OR DAMP GUINEAS ARE FUNNY THERE ONLY EAT WHAT WONT TEND TO HURT THEM. hAVE YOU TREND A DIFFERENT BRAND OR A DIFFERENT HAY FROM A DIFFERENT SHOP TO SEE IF THERE INTERESTED THEN. THE HAY IS GGOD TO KEEP THERE TEETH IN CHECK. BUT AS LONG AS THERE HAPPY AND EATING I WOULDNT WORRY ID SAY IT WILL PROBABLY BE SHORT LIVED,.
