silent spinner ?

what size silent spinner is suitable for a adult syrian.

i bought a 6 1/2 inch wheel today but it looks a bit too small !

i was also wonder what wheel people would choose ou of the silent spinner, flying saucer and wodent wheel for being the quietest and suitable.

i want to invest in silent wheels for all my hamsters (5 dwarfs and 2 syrians)

but not sure whats the best and what sizes are needed

Yes the small silent spinner is too small for syrians... I think theres a 12 inch one which is ok if you have a massive cage but it definitely wouldn't fit in mine!!

I got Sausage a flying saucer but the 6 inch one of those seems maybe a little bit too small for him to run on properly... I'm not sure though as its quite new and I haven't really seen him use it that much yet

I have an 8.5 inch comfort wheel it doesn't squeak (yet) but it does make a weird banging noise as it goes round... but I think it would be better if it was on the stand rather than attached to the cage! I need to try it

Re: silent spinner ?

ahhhh will have to have a look for the 12" one then !

i think il get the flying saucers for the dwarfs as they seem more suited for those types of hammies

i was thinking about the wodent wheels but they are REALLY EXPENSIVE

i have to have silent ones as i breed hammies and with the noise that the current wheels make in the night there is a risk that mum will get stressed and kill the babies

soooooo.......

I seeee

I don't know why more people have flying saucers for dwarfs rather than syrians... maybe because of the size of it? Although there is a bigger flying saucer I think theres a 12 inch one

Re: silent spinner ?

My favourite is the Senior (large) Wodent wheel (which I attach to the cage rather than the stand which can be noisy) but they are impossible to get hold of and cost about £18, so I need to find one for Fred, but as I'm not sure if she might be pregnant I don't need it just yet.

Syrian's are fully grown at 4 months, so yes, he's fuly grown. I never thought my Syrian was arching his back either on my SS, but when I knew more about hamsters, he was actually. I'd recommend the Junior Wodent Wheel if you can get hold of one. If not, the Savic Jumbo rolly on a stand is a good one to try!
