Bin cage :)

Whilst I was away... my dad made my bin cage for me

I'm going to get him to put a round hole in one of the sides for the tube to go down from the savic/rotastak cages

If anyone is reading this and has a bin cage... do you think it has enough ventilation? There are only the 2 cage meshed parts, do you think there needs to be one on the back side or will it be ok like this?

All I need now is my little Sausage back

Yes and I'm sure Sausage will love the extra space to play in

This is bigger than a cage Unless I got a hamster heaven or something but they are expensive. He won't know its a storage box!! And he still has 2 real cages to play in

This just means he has extra space to run around in/for me to spoil him and buy him new toys

Well both of Sausage's cages are quite small, so instead of buying a new cage I am attaching a bin cage to his 2 cages so he has more space

The bin cage is quite massive, you can probably see its the width of the door nearly

It's his alternative to a hamster heaven

Re: Bin cage :)

Storage boxes make great cages - I made them for my hamsters when I had them. They're larger than a lot of the cages, and I even made double-decker ones using Rotastak tubes to connect them.

Yes, that's plenty of ventilation - mine just had a front panel and that was ok. I did put the mesh on the inside though, as they will chew the plastic and that minimises what they can reach.

One of them is still in use: I removed the wire panel and it's now a cat bed!

Re: Bin cage :)

Yup they are the cheap alternative, and you could even work it to make levels aswell!
