Re: The rat pack...

I have seen the programme and I thought it was sickening. The thought that someone can watch something kill another is horrid.

Re: The rat pack...

My OH had the program on the other day. I made him turn it off because the sound of the rats being killed really upset me. I understand that the dog is a better/ kinder method than poisons and traps but owning rats myself I kept thinking what if that was my rat....

Re: The rat pack...

As much as I love rats I do agree that wild rats are vermin and it is necessary that wild ones are killed. They, like rabbits, are problematic to farmers and can destroy a large amount of crops. Although they do not directly have diseases, they can carry harmful bacteria which can cause disease to animals and humans. With terriers, they die instantly and don't really know what happens. If they are poisoned they can spend hours in immense pain.

I do agree though that having a program about it is a bit sick, but if people watcj it that's all the channel owners care about. So long as they get their ratings, they'll show anything.

Peace
Akai-Chan

I actually quite enjoy watching dogs doing what they were created to do! I think its fascinating how they never seem to lose their instincts.
