Put the cage in the bath if you can until your tank arrives, they can chew out of a normal cage in a very very short time but if its in the bath at least he is hopefully trapped in the bath. Some gerbils do go their whole lives in normal cages though. Piccies when he arrives though, you know thats compulsary right?
