He just said "tell me again, why we've got that hamster" I was lucky I could remember what I had said, I am not a good liar, I keep forgetting what I originally said.

That cage is awful, and no way suited for rats to live in. They'd chew their way out in no time, and it would get too hot as it doesn't look that well-ventilated.

I wouldn't be allowed rats yet anyway but I have to agree, it looks great for the owner to look at but would be horrible for the poor rats, a bit like a lot of hamster cages on the market. Maybe my oh will agree to a couple of rats when I haven't got mice any more cos they could use the mouse cage (hopefully the mice will be around for ages yet though).
