Increased Thirst??

Slightly worried about my syrian, she has suddenly stareted drinking a lot more, could it be the heat? or something scarier?

Re: Increased Thirst??

its probably the heat all my animals have been drinking much more the last few days, but if your worried phone the vets just for some reassurance or a qhick check up there can be other medical reasons for increased thirst but my guess would be the heat

Re: Increased Thirst??

I would guess it was the heat too. Your little hammie has got a fur coat on 24/7 so it must get quite warm. I have laid out a damp towel in my rats cage so they can lie on it and cool themselves if it gets too warm.

Re: Increased Thirst??

My 3 have slept for the last three days apart from getting up to drink and eat, they haven't wanted to play either so I think they are all suffering from the heat, it should be cooler today so watch what her drinking is like today and if it is still more than usual then you might need a vets appointment.

Re: Increased Thirst??

Yes I think my hamsters and guinea pigs have been drinking a lot more this last few days so I think it's the heat.

No chance of that today though - it's freezing.
