Re: sand bath for syrian?

The stuff P@H advised me to get was chinchilla dusting powder which is very bad for hamsters, it needs to say dusting sand, the stuff I use is charlie chinchilla dusting sand, it comes in a plastic bottle.

Re: sand bath for syrian?

Dusting sand and dusting powder are actually the same thing but just made by different companies. If you buy both and compare there is little difference.

Re: sand bath for syrian?

The dusting powder from pets at home is just that fine powder, I get the Charlie Chinchilla dusting sand now which is definately sand, much bigger granules, I personally wouldn't risk using the dusting powder just in case they inhalled it, I might be being over cautious but if you put the two products side by side there is a difference. I can't speak for other makes of dusting sand though as I have always bought the Charlie Chinchilla.
