fatal mistake?

was getting on OK with frank considering weve been together 2 days.
i could put my hand in and he would have a sniff about etc. then i fed him a few bits and pieces. since then, rather than sniff me hes tried to chew me!

have i made frank now think hand = food?

Re: fatal mistake?

In what way? Has he tried to bite down hard? or is it more of a nibble?

Nibbles are a way of a hamster getting to know you by taste

Re: fatal mistake?

he could be Curios biting

If your hands smell like food he will , wash them really well before trying to stroke/handel him, maybe rub you hands in his bedding

Re: fatal mistake?

one of mine started doing this so I stopped giving him treats from my hand while he was in the cage and now hes back to his sweet non biting self again I only give him treats from my hand when they are out now so no confusion for them, it might work for you to? it only took a couple of days doing this for it to work.
