i started a thread asking why everyone loved gabber rex's so much, and apparently it is a must have, they are hard to get hold of, and larger than normal cages

I think people love them so much because of the size. They are almost the size of a guinea pig cage but have hamster sized bar spacing on the top, so you don't need to modify it to stop your hammy escaping

People also like them because of the endless opportunities with them. They don't have any levels, but in some respects that makes them better because it gives you plenty of space to add any toys you want, whereas most hamster cages dont have very much room for other toys once you've got your house, wheel and food bowl in.....and that is why people like the Gabber there's probably plenty more reasons too....like they're fully enclosed so no sawdust flying everywhere, no escaping, not drafty for the hammy, VERY easy to clean.....it goes on

SHe is soo kind her hammie died ages ago and she still had it, shame i dont have the room or i woud use it!

I have to say, I much prefer wired cages...my hammies don't throw sawdust all over...so thats ok. And they love to climb the bars and monkey bar across the top of their cage!!

I Have Two Gabber Rex's && They Are Awesome!!!


We found both ours on ebay too. The latest one came full with toys, and 3 plastic bags of food/bedding/sawdust/treats etc for 28quid!!

Lol I just read one of them adverts, WTH would you need a hamster lead for?

I found a Fop cage the same as Ella's and the person obviously doesn't know what it is!

EDIT: GRRRR i got out bid!

I just bought a Gabber for.... £7.01 but I think will be about £8 postage so £15 in total! Wahay!
