Hi, Welcome to the forum...

Do you think that they have been fighting? Its not uncommon so keep close eye on them.

Re: chinese dwarf hamsters

I agree with Cherrie. Is there any sign of blood or injury/wound etc?

Re: chinese dwarf hamsters

No it doesn't look like there is an injury or wound, the whole tail just looks red and sore, one of them is really friendly and can be handled (the one with the sore tail) and the other bites when u hold it so I am wondering if they have been fighting during the night.
Thanks,
Abby x

Re: chinese dwarf hamsters

This could unfortunately be the case...

Keep a close eye on them...generally the rule is that if they fight and blood is drawn, they should be separated.

Unfortunately, I have just lost a Robo due to fighting.

Just watch x

Re: chinese dwarf hamsters

Keep a close eye on her.

Chinese hamsters actualy do better on their own in most cases, despite what pet shops say.

It might possibly be mites, i would go to your vet to be sure
