Re: water bottle
i'd think it will be fine as they dont have water bottles in the wild do they. lol The water may need changing reg though as shavings will no doubt end up in the dish. Thats the added advantage of a water bottle the water stays cleaner for longer.

Re: water bottle
you might find that the mice prefer the water bowl to the bottle as it's easier to clean out of.
You could try giving them a bird water feeder thing that has a small bowl at the bottom so they always have access to a pool of water? We have to do this for our male rat rolly who dislikes waterbottles, luckily his leaks so he always has a small puddle in the corner of his cage.

Re: water bottle
Well, the water bottles are more practical, as they won't get full of poo/shavings/food and won't get knocked over, but as long as it's not too deep, and the bowl is on a sturdy surface (like on one of the plastic platforms some cages have) then it should be fine
just make sure you check on it as often as you can, just in case it does get mucky or tipped over. |
