do you use fleece for your rats?

This Bought my puppy some bedding! was posted in the dog section, the fleeces look to be really good value in case anyone is looking for any for hammocks or lining cages.

Re: do you use fleece for your rats?

I probably will next time I go to Ikea...I'm not allowed to stick any of mine in the washing machine so they basically get used til they need to be chucked out!

You'd stand out in the yard in this weather with your hands in sh***y rat water? :P You're a tougher girl than I

I already have to wash their towels in a bucket, so I tend to use babywipes for cleaning out and only use hot soapy water and towels every now and then or if the cages get reaaalllly pooey and messy!

It was never a problem when I lived in the rented house with my OH, our clothes stank because of the horrible mouldy damp air in the house, nothing to do with using the washing machine to do the rats laundry

If I was allowed to chuck their stuff in the machine on a regular basis, then the hammocks and towels wouldn't even get to the point of needing to go in a bucket, my lot are generally very clean unless someone's ill.

Re: do you use fleece for your rats?

i use this to clean down my rats cage. http://www.animal-health.co.uk/eMerc...?idCategory=18
i dilute a weak solution to a spray bottle and do all the shelves and litter tray and then the base gets done once a week along with the bars.
i did used to use washing liquid but i much prefer to use this and it gets rid of any nasty things lurking and it smells clean after.

was recommended to me after a had a bout of ring worm.
excellent stuff.

Ooh thanks for posting that, I get through almost 2 bottles of cage cleaner a week costing about £7 so should save me loads

Also thank you TDM for the fleeces link, I always need them

Re: do you use fleece for your rats?

I use these for the rabbits far cheaper than any other blankets I've seen and no silly stitching around the edges
