I'm on plastic surgery ward waiting for an operation n my hand :0( might have blood clot. I can't believe it! I could cry! I'm so scared

Hugs! try not to panic, i hate hospitals too. If you are getting really uptight ask for some diazepam or something, or at least talk to one of the nurses, they might be able to help you feel a bit more relaxed

It hasn't put me off! I miss them so much and I'm worried sick about them as there was quite a bit of blood in their cage this morning and was gonna take them to the vet this afternoon after my app! But I'm stuck in hospital all weekend. I did check them over this morning and didn't see any cuts or anything!

So sorry to hear you are in hospital. Ask the staff to explain everything (over and over again if needs be) if you're not sure of what is going on, hope you are soon on the mend.

Hi everyone,

I had my operation this morning. I had local anaesthetic and had needles put into my collar bone area to numb my whole arm. It was horrible as my whole arm was paralysed!! I had no control over it for hours and then the pain kicked in. They opened up my hand and cleaned out the wound. I have to keep it upright until Monday. The doc is then going to look at it and say whether I can go home or have to have another operation. All this for a rat bite! Thankfully I am not in as much pain as I was earlier!

Hi Hun glad all went ok.

Just one thing though, is your partner looking after your rats and are they ok to be together? I'd hate it if they were fighting while u weren't at home and one ended being seriously hurt!

Yeah Owain is looking after them. We worked that it is my blood in the cage as there is absolutely no where that it could have come from as there's no cuts on either of them. They are fine together at the moment at least.
