Unhappy Marley

He is his normal chubby self, but he has lost fur on his rump. What are people's thoughts? Am a little nervous its an allergy reaction to my puddy tats...for I keep him down stairs cos he is one of two lonely male meeces.

Anyways what do you think?

Re: Marley

Do mice have anal glands that can become blocked and infected like dogs and cats? If so I would say this could be the problem as in dogs and cats they sometimes rub their bottoms or chew around the base of the tail when their glands are a problem sometimes resulting in fur loss like this. I could be totally off the mark tho so ignore me if you want

Don't be silly I am grateful for any angle to explore! I did wonder if it was rubbing. It happened a week or so ago and hasn't grown. But I have no idea!

Re: Marley

Is there any excessive heat to his testicles? The area doesn't appear to be red in the pics but is it?? Is there any lumps or bumps in the area? Is he passing stools ok or is he a little bunged up?

No excessive heat to testicles and no the area is white...just skin colour...I think...THINK...new fur is slowly growing under it. And yes he passed a lovely big poo on me What do you think about fungal infection? I recently had a fungal skin infection and he is the one I hold most. It wasn't ringworm but was something.

Re: Marley

Could be then but it is less likely if the fur is begining to grow back? I would watch him for another week and if no fur has grown back at all then pop him to the vets and mention the fungal infection that you have had.

I thought barbering was the pulling fur of other males?

Is pale, not flakey at all and there is a very small amount of fur growing back.
