How do I end up in these situations seriously

So there I am innocently looking for a temp rat cage on preloved, eBay, gumtree etc for the 2 boys I took in Friday that came in a crappy critter 2. I saw an ad on preloved for a large rat cage but had no pic or details so I asked what it was and the lady emailed back saying they need a another place for the rat in it first. So I said ok but do you mean you are rehoming the rat or finding another cage. The lady then says would I take the rat with the cage and described the cage.

The cage sounds fine and the rat is female so can be bonded to my group of 7 so I said ok fine. Then she tells me her daughter whose rat it is says no even though she dosnt even handle the rat. Ive now just spent the past half hour trying to explain nicely that it's unfair to keep rats by themselves and convince her she would better here.... All I wanted was a blummin cage! Finally the daughter has agreed but I could've done without all the agro.

It's so hard to try and be nice to these people when really I want to say are you stupid! Apparently this poor rat hasn't been handled ever, they got her from the daughters friend who didnt handle her either . I sent them a link to the fancy rats info page too and told them to read it and I think that's what did it

You get yourself into these situations because you are an angel
Many people would have walked away, especially when the woman said no, but you are a lovely caring person

Aww your making me blush thank you although remember I never would have been able to help those 21 rats if it wasn't for you and some others on here

Trust me it doesn't get better the older you get --
you do it because you have a genuinely loving caring heart

soo what happens to me --Polly came 2nd in the Hornchurch charity comp (which was lovely )and won me a Pets at Home gift card ----I rarely go into that shop -in fact one time gave them a good talking too and threatened them with the environmental health -anyway went to lok in our new one and found some very useful things for my furries -then made mistake of looking at adoptees -thankfully all looking clean and cared for -then said to the assistant doing the hammy cleaning out -I love those little Robos ---
oh she replies another branch locally has a dear little boy -born at the shop but was the runt and overnight got badly attacked by his siblings -has had intensive vet treatment (told me the name of vets -who i do know from my work at my vets ) Baytril syringed in and Tiacil as his eyes were also affected ad finally 5 months later is recovered -vets think he is a miracle and the staff are very attached as he was handled daily and never once resisted -has left him a bit slower than other Robos and a bit scruffy looking but now he needs a home although he is not out on public show as they don't want to stress him ---soo ---
