Louie, riley and chico (rats) are on antibiotic tablets and ive been disguising them in lots of yumimy things. they've been on the tablets for well over a week now and i've given peanut butter lots of times to all three of them without any problems. Except twice in one week i've give louie his tablet in peanut butter and he gagged for quite a while and the first time was sick twice. he goes potty for peanut butter! is there any connection do you think? or a concidence? it was scary as hell.

Peanut butter is one of the worst things to give rats as it's too gloopy and sticky therefore resulting in gagging.
Something Like mayonnaise,jam or cheese spread is good.

As for rats being sick rats can't be sick they can only gag. So what u would have seen would've been slobber.

I've had this happen to me in the past wen I fed toast so I do not feed that anymore.

a whole lot of yellow liquid came up. it was awful! he loves peanut butter! its one of his fave things and it would be a shame not to give it to him anymore. do you think i could soften it or dilute it with some water or something?

Why rats can't vomit

I would water it down defiantly.

The only way I managed with a tablet for one of my boys was to a little warm water dilute the tablet and a touch of honey then more cold water. Thankfully it worked and he's all better.. The only down side is trying to get him to drink it away from his cage buddies.... I think the others thought he was getting a special treat so had to pretend to do the same with my other 3....

Only decided to try this after I read the new rattie mums love the honey and water after giving birth ...

Chico my naked is so hard to get his tablets into! He seems to only like one thing one night but won't eat it the might after! So it's a guessing game! I will definitely try your advice Samantha thank uou!
