My Chipmunks.

Heres a couple pictures of my chipmunks and their cages. The pictures of the chipmunks aren't the best as they are such fast little buggers. Please excuse the cages. They are at the minute being done up so are a bit messy

1st pic. Lilo my first chipmunk, Extremely friendly.
2nd - Mac my little boy enjoying a raid of the food tub
3rd - Lilo when she lived outside. She has a very dark nose.
4th - My little white girl Nessie.
5th - Nessie and her sister

Re: My Chipmunks.

Their cages.

The big cage has 3 girls living it it, all sisters but they will be moving to the aviary outside this spring to live with my boy Buster.

The smaller cage is for my chipmunl Lilo, she lives alone at the mo and is hibernating, she will soon have a friend as Cloud (a white girl) Will be coming to live with Lilo when she is out of hibernation.

Re: My Chipmunks.

Beautiful munks, are some of the cages built into the alcoves? Good use of space!

Re: My Chipmunks.

Thanks guys, Yeah 2 cages are built into the alcoves, great space saver.

LostGirl- They are one of the easiest pets i've kept. They are such comical little things and extremely active. They love climbing around everything possible. The love looking for food and hiding it. They eat and drink anything. A fav of Lilos is a nice warm cup of tea. They basically enjoy running around, play fighting, collecting and storing food and eating. They don't need cleaned out a lot as they are not really smelly. I clean my inside cages about once a month and that them without being litter trained. They only problem with the cage i have is the mesh is on the outside so they pee on the bits inside wich smells but we're stripping that down and covering them areas. The only thing is they are quite messy on free range time. Every night i go to bed i have to check it all first if not i have seeds everywhere lol, and they chuck mud out of their digging pots but apart from that they make the most wonderful pets and are just amazing to watch, sorry for rambling on but chipmunks are brilliant

Re: My Chipmunks.

Your munks are gorgeous.
My parents used to have one back when I was 11.
He lived inside in a homade cage/aviary he used to dig my mums plant pots so all the soil went everywhere.
He'd sit on your shoulders he was so tame.
Of course back then we didn't know they had to be kept in pairs or groups but our Chester lived till he was 8yrs old.

Re: My Chipmunks.

Sounds like a normal chipmunk too me, Lilo was kept on her own before i got her and she is the friendliest out of my lot. Boys can live in groups but i keep mice seperate as it avoids bad arguments. 2 of my boys will live with females and the other likes his own space, his own cage. I've had 3 plants destroyed because of them haha, no soil left in them, leaves ripped off, plan to get them another one soon
