Looking for Rats

Hi All,

Very new to the forum but hoping someone may be able to help. We are a fairly experienced pair of rats owners. I have had rats myself through my teens and then once we bought our home I got a taste for them again. My other half has been keeping rats with me for 4 years now and we are looking to expand our brood.

To the point I hear you cry, well I have been hunting for an alternative to Pets at Home as a source of future rat mannies. We have adopted pre-owned rats and our current brood are all rescues. However after pretty epic vet bills not to mention emotional ups and downs over the last year we are looking for some babies who we can rear and treat right from the vary start.

I hope someone can suggest something, have tried all the breeders from the SFRC list and everyone is either not breeding any more or not breeding for ages

Oh and we can only take on baby bucks as my other half is horribly allergic to girlies!

Any help much appreciated

RipleyRat

edit *Lol sorry I didn't realise I left this out: looking in Aberdeen*

Re: Looking for Rats

If you look for rescues in your area, many will get pregnant does in so will have babies up for adoption

Re: Looking for Rats

its a shame you are so far away from me, I have rat kits at the moment, they are only two weeks old right now but they are gorgeous, but I'm in S. Wales unfortunately.

I hope you find some soon

Re: Looking for Rats

I did try contacting all the SRFC listed breeders in Nov but no-one was breeding any more or just didn't reply to me

Still holding out hope for an SPCA rescue or maybe someone on Gumtree.

Who'd have thought it'd be so difficult to find rats north of the border.

Re: Looking for Rats

Hi there.
We have six baby bucks here in London. You can have them all for free as we cant keep that many of them. There are two whites and four blacks&whites. Nearly two months old.
