Hello all,

Recently brought 3 female lemmings (Mediterranean Lemmings) however I’m not entirely sure they're all females after witnessing humping action lol by one of the bigger lemmings. Can someone grance at the photos and comment to whether they think I have females?

Im no expert,but to me the top one looks different,the gap between the tail and opening is longer,although as it`s tail is hidden it could be the way its lying?

Have you seen the Exotic Keepers forum? They are a very knowledgeable, and friendly bunch of people so could be worth asking there. I can't really tell from those photos I'm afraid although it does look like the top one is different to the other two.

I've got Steppe Lemmings, not mediterranaen and the boys were VERY obvious, with quite prominent balls. How old are they?

Googled sexing Lemmings and got this any help?


Male steppe lemmings are easily distinguished by the prominent bulge of the testes also the anal-genital gap is around double the width in the male as the female

UPDATE

Thanks for everyone’s help in the past. I think I'm now convinced I have a male after seeing some WOOD appear between his legs lol. As I can't handle the lemmings I got what I think is the male in a clear tube and took a photo. Are my assumptions right? Or could it still be an alpha female? I’m guessing I should expect babies soon, I just hope he’s impotent lol.
