I have a very high maintaince parrot that I love dearly.
My life revolves around him and it is like having a toddler that never grows up!
I am pushing 40 and have no children and don't intend too.

I'm 33 now but alway have animals around for as long I can remember when me and the oh moved in together I moved in with 4 rats but had to leave my cats at my mums because mum said was unfair on the 4 cats

I had an month cat free and hated it so got 2 cats from battersea dogs home

now have fish 3 cats and 6 hamster

I think about this all the time, I don't think I'd have kids for another couple of years, even if I had kids at say, I dunno 27-30 years old, most of my animals will still be about, all the snakes, beardies, the terrapin, the young ferrets, the cat, maybe even the rats if they can push 6 years. I've always wondered how I would cope as it's me who does all the cleaning, feeding etc. My OH just plays with them lol. But I'm sure I'd figure out a routine and I'm sure OH would help me with the animals.. I'd love to bring my future children up around pets, I was always around pets and it was great!

And I also let my OH think he has final say on the pets lol but tbh we both love animals, we met eachother on an animal care course so it was ment to be lol He doesn't mind if I get mice, rats, snakes, spiders, ferrets. There is a limit on cats and we cant have a dog but thats more personal curcumstance rather than "no you cant have that" if anything we actually really want a dog lol
We've decided that our new years resolution is ... no more pets! lol see how long that lasts
