Just went to check on all the animals like I do every morning and found my little boy Carter dead
That's 2 babies I've lost in 1 week, I'm gutted.

He was adopted from the rspca back in june this year and I got him for free because they said he only had a few weeks left to live as he was just over 3 years old, well he made it for another 5 months here with me so I'm happy that I got to spoil him for his last months.

Sleep tight little one, mummy loves you lots x x x

Oh no hun am so sorry!! Am guessing Carter is a hamster/gerbil? If so he has done really well age-wise!!! A small comfort I guess

Thanks everyone, it was a bit of a shock because I'd heard him running on his wheel a couple of hours earlier.

And yep Niki he was a little dwarf hammy, so I guess 3 1/2 years wasn't a bad age to get to.

I'm ok but just feel.....guilty, you know? When you lose more than one animal in such a short space of time you kinda feel like you're a bad pet owner Which is silly because my lot are spoilt rotten and have only gone because they were ill/old.

Going to bury him in the plant pot that he had in his cage, he loved the thing!

3.5 is amazing for a hamster!!! And that is down to you!! You extended his life. Not only that you gave him a happy 5 months. RSPCA aren't too bad but even the best centres can't give all their rescues the attention that you gave to him!! And the love!!!!
