Re: RIP our lovely guineas

so sorry for your loss, but please everyone, take this as a reminder, make sure EVERYTHING is bolted, foxes are very clever, cunning creatures, who can easily knock hutches with lift up lids and flick swivel catches

Re: RIP our lovely guineas

Im sorry for your loss RIP Piggies xxx

In the summer a fox managed to knock over one of my hutches (this was padlocked although it had a lift up roof that I didnt think to bolt) the fox got 2 of my buns it is a harsh reality that these foxes are very clever and cunning.

Re: RIP our lovely guineas

Thanks, everyone, for the kind words.
The hutch doors were all bolted and the latch was on the lid; it never occurred to us that I fox could tip the whole thing over and knock the top latch open. Poor wee girls.
We're rethinking where to house guineas in future to give them more room and security. We'd love more guineas but I want to get the housing more secure first, and possibly look to rescue centres for pets in the future.
