Re: My new little bubbas!

Thanks for the advice.

They're just over 6 weeks blade, they do look a bit bigger than your babies judging by the size of them against the food bowls. Yours are gorgeous btw, I love the caramel one. They're dumbos, but I'm guessing the Husky, is the style of the coat?

I'm using P@H rat museli at the moment but as I said topping it with fresh veg and fruit, meat and the odd bit of whole wheat pasta to gnaw on. I've got eggs and sardines in so I guess I'll be having some of those for tea in the next couple of days so they can have some lol. Will get some curly kale too, been meaning to try that for myself as well.

Re: My new little bubbas!

Roan/husky is the markings/colouring of them

Ie ones with just a head of colour with colour running down backs etc are hooded, ones withseal points are siamese/himalyian

Sold colours with White tummy are berkshires (I think!)

There are loads of different "types" its a bit like dog coats, lengths and colours

Re: My new little bubbas!

yes daynna is right,husky/roan is the variety of coat.

i have 2 solid colours in my group of which have no white on there bellies and they are selfs.

i also have a PEW thats pink eyed white plus many other colours and various dumbo and top eared rats.

enjoy your bundles of fun.

this is also a good forum for any advice on health diet behaviour etc
Fancy Rats • Index page

and you may notice they will playfight, pin each other down and squeak which is all normal.
if you see any blood or cuts on them then its not playfighting and one would need neutering.

Re: My new little bubbas!

They are gorgeous. I absolutely adore rats - used to have them, but sadly not any more. Good luck introducing them to your others, and hope they enjoy the new cage.

Re: My new little bubbas!

Thanks for the links to the other forum, I'll have a good read, and for the rat types. Some of those rats were huge! I particularly liked the curly haired ones, and I love the blue ones.

I'm hoping mine are black blazed variegated, or similar, as I'd rather like them to keep their markings!

They're definitely husky/roans I'm afraid. They could be banded husky though, which do indeed keep their colour, only time will tell!

Re: My new little bubbas!

To me they look like my 3 and they will fade.

I've got
2 Russian blue selfs
1 Siamese
1 cinnamon
1 agouti Berkshire
1 pew
1 black Berkshire
1 naked Siamese
3 black n White hoodeds
1 black n White husky/roan
2 fawn n White husky/roan

I'd love another Rex, and agouti hooded again.
