I have just got the list back from the NFRS of breeders and well they aren't exactly close to me!

The nearest are glasgow and paisley.

But what I wanted to know was are you expected to go and visit a breeder/the babies before you can take them home or do they like, get to know you via email etc and you can meet them when the babies are ready?

I quite fancied some dumbo babies but none of the breeders anywhere near me breed them but there is no way OH will drive me miles and miles to get rats as he is not keen on them!

I wouldn't mind rescuing... do rescues have babies? Where are the rescues? Only reason I want babies is I've only ever had adults or older babies and I would really like some little baby ones soon

I think most breeders will want to meet potential owners just to get to know them where I live there's not too many breeders close by but I'm prepared to travel pretty for babies from a good, ethical breeder & would want to get to know them myself
As for rescues, they often have pregnant mums come in or have youngsters available that have been handed in from unexpected litters

You could try on here - ANIMAL RESCUE CENTRES, REHOMING CENTRES AND SHELTERS IN THE UK

I'd ask on the FancyRats forum tbh, most rattie rescues don't advertise - they are run from home, and aren't registered charities, they're just people doing their bit. I'm sure you'll find someone a little closer if you check there, there's soooo many members!
