I am also willing to foster (would be able to help more animals and be able to rehome to different areas!), homecheck and help out with anything needed really. I live fairly close-ish to you and Bernie so hopefully I can help somehow.
I have a brother who drives me about so transport is no bother!

Ahhh that would be fantastic thank you both I dont know how long things take to organize but im hoping that i can become official in time for all the small animals bought as xmas presents and then arent wanted come Jan/Feb time

It's awful isn't it how you know when there will be extra animals needing home, like just after xmas and after easter for bunnies.

What will you call your rescue? It's needs a fab name!

I hate it When i was a kid my mum let me buy my sis a ham for christmas but really it was for me as i knew she would get bored of it and my mum wouldnt let me have another one for me as i already had 3 Parents these days dont seem to realise that most children cant be trusted to be the sole carers of small animals and its down to them to help. My mum knew i cared for my pets well and she was always happy to buy all the things i needed and take them to the vets if needed.

As for a name im not sure, any ideas? I did think the Rat Room as thats what i call my room now but i think that will confuse people as it wouldnt be just for rats. I could only take rats, hams, degu and mice though as thats what i have knowledge of. I could only take gerbils if i had someone that knew about them although i can research myself. I couldnt take buns as im allergic and i also have dogs that wouldnt be to happy about that. Guineas too are something else i couldnt take, due to space and exercise they need.

It makes me so mad when you read adverts on gumtree etc where people are rehoming animals and their excuse is 'kids god bored' Like you say children shouldn't be relied on to be the sole carer of their pet, if the parent is buying it they need to be prepared to take over the care themselves.
I've had hamsters and rabbits since I was a small child and I have always wanted to take care of them on my own so my mum let me but she was always there to help if I needed it.

Hhhmmmm names....I guess Rat room would be a little confusing as people would think it was just a rat rescue.
How about Rodent room rescue? As you'd be taking in small animals.
Or Animal Ark Rescue....I've always wanted to start a rescue and this is the name I would have chosen!
Or Animals R us Rescue!

I am really liking Rodent Room, theres already an Animal Ark vets by me so people may think id be associated with them and its also very handy you know about gerbils
