In a pickle don't know what to do

Hi everyone

I've not been on here for a while but I really don't know what to do....

Basically hubby and I are moving into my mothers house, my mother eyesight has always been bad but has now deterioated to the point where she has had to give up work. My hubby and I have agreed to give up our flat and move in with her to look after her as she has had so many accidents of late and has just moved to a new area, she scares me to death!! this isn't a permanent arrangement but I'm not sure how long she will need us

My problem are my nine rats, my first problem is my mum is allergic small animal fur (I think it may be the litter as she is fine with my dog), my second is space. I'm absolutely torn as i am trying to do the right thing by everyone. At the moment I have 5 girls in the bottom of an explorer and 4 boys in the top of the explorer. One option is to downsize the amount of rats i have although there is no way I could choose, I love them all and the whole thing is stressing me out. I could probably fit a very small cage somewhere but it's not fair on them, they should be given as much space as possible

If I found them a new home how would I know they weren't being used for snake food? I would be quite happy to give them to somebody who would love them as much as I do, i'm not bothered about money for the explorer I'm more concerened about my babies going to a good home.

I was also thinking of somebody fostering them for me and me paying for their upkeep, please let me know what you would do, I'm torn in half and it's causing me sleepless nights...

Thanks

Do you have any friends or family that would foster them for you?

Or you could always ask someone here on the forum.

I've been down the avenue of family and friends. I think the word rat instantely puts people off. Although my cousin has hamsters so I don't understand why the thought really puts her off.

Go on the Fancy Rats forum. There are a lot of ratty people who would either foster them or rehome them, depending on what you want. I think it would be better to find someone to foster if it's not going to be a permanent move.
