Hamster parasites

My female 3month3week old hamster has started to stop, shudder, and then lick, clean and sort of nibble herself all-over. could she have mites or something? Is it worth taking her to the vets, or should i just used anti-parasite spot on? thanks

Re: Hamster parasites

Heya sounds like normal hammy grooming behaviour to me

Check her all over though as if it is mites you will probably notice some reddened skin, little marks, scabs etc.

Im no hammy expert though so some other members may be able to help a bit more,
