last night on doing my nightly checks, i went over to the mouse cage, pulled back the huge nesting pile to do a head count, and found this!!



a huge hole which all 6 could easily have got through!!!
both cats were already on my bed, and had been for about 15 minutes, while i wasnt in the room.
so you can imagine the panic
i grabbed my empty carry tank and started grabbit every one i saw and chucking them straight in there, i had to dig around a bit, but thankfully i found everyone, still in their cage

they are either very clever girlies, or obviously just love their cage

dont suppose any one has a nice big, narrow bar spaced cage going cheep do they?

Glad they were all still in the cage though. The cats would have thought christmas had come early otherwise!!

Get a tank.They wont chew through that!

Tanks aren't good for mice due to the lack of ventilation.

I dont want a tank, they arent really good for mice due to the lack of ventilation mentioned

but they are also very heavy and a PITA to clean, and i would have to move a tank off the shelf to get in through the top, it would not be ideal, and the weight of one would probably collapse my shelfs

Clever little buggers haha, Can't believe the size of the hole!
I currently use a tank with a mesh lid and wouldn't say it had good ventilation, thats why im building them a cage inside an alcove in my bedroom with a chipmunk cage above it

i know, all the nice big cages at decent prices are miles away and collection only tho

i need a nice bargin as i still owe my vets my soul, from being the soft bugger that cant turn away an injured stray!!!
(£400 vet bill for a cat that wasnt mine....... but now is )
