New baby Guinea-Pig! :D

Hi everyone. Thank goodness I'm back online! My computer was poorly and had to be taken away but it's all better now! I've missed being on here

Anyway... to get to the point of posting in this section... my birthday was last month, and I got a Guinea-Pig. He's very sweet, I got him when he was 9 weeks old and he's now 12 weeks on Tuesday! He's ALWAYS squeeking, very noisy. I recently took in my aunts Budgie, and they both chatter to each other (their both in the living room... lol) He looks to be an Abyssinian Guinea Pig, all scruffy haired. I'll post some pictures of him when I get all my pictures back onto the PC!

I was wondering if anyone could help aswell, he seems to be very skittish and jumpy, he's often scratching and biting himself too. I wondered if he had mites? But when I went to the pet shop, the treatment says they have to be over 12 weeks... so I haven't given him anything yet, just to be safe... Thanks for any help in advance!

Tracy x

Your vet might be able to give you something that's suitable for baby guinea pigs.

Congrats on the new fuzzball, looking forward to the pics

Sounds like a typical Abyssinian. The are very flighty and never calm down, always on the edge, lol!!

If you want to treat him for mites, go to the vets and ask for Ivermectin, which can be given orally or a drop behind the ear.
