floyd at the vets

oh deary me
floyd is at the vets he's having a polip removed from his anus.
when i got him i noticed he was straining for a poo and when he did go it was black with blood in.
i thought maybe it was cuz he was fed crappy foods just his dry mix so i have been feeding him and bungle fresh veg and fruit every day followed by weetabix for fibre.and cooked foods at night.
floyd looked to be getting better his poo's were normal colour.
well today wen i was getting dressed they were out on the bed and floyd was struggling to poo eventaully he did and it was follwed with no end of fresh pink blood.
straight to the vets he went and he has just had his op on his anus to remove the polip but the vet just phoned to say its about 2 inches higher up so all he could do was snip the bit that was hanging out his bum.the vet did say though that he has a clear rectum now and that he should be ok but if the polip grows and ends up protruding out his bum he may have to have the same done or put to sleep.
jamie is collecting him in a minute so he can go back in with bungle.

the joys of owning fancy rats

Is he home yet? What's the likelihood of it causing him problems in the future?

Re: floyd at the vets

Hi thanks for replying.
He's now home safe and sound, though he's only just started to wake up properly I had to syringe feed him water earlier he was so thirsty he didn't have the energy to get to his drinker. He's fine now though.
He's ate some cauliflower and they have some chicken and veg from our dinner.
The stupid vet gave him an anaesthetic injection which is why it took so long for him to come round. He should've given him gas.
Anyway the chances of it coming back are a possibility though thevet stuck a cotton bud up his bum and there was no blood on it so that is a good sign.

Fingers crossed it won't come back again.

Re: floyd at the vets

Glad he is home
Stupid vet giving him the injection tho, thank god that didn't go wrong
Poor Floyd getting a cotton bud up his bum, I'm surprised his eyes didn't pop out

I hope this is the last of it and he doesn't have any problems with it in the future
