don't quite know what just happened...

but it has cheered me up anyway!
I've had some health problems recently and so have been a bit down and today its pretty much been decided I'm not fit enough to return to uni this year and am going to have to take a year off.
So I was pretty upset today and my dad knows that. My dad never lets me have animals, I have to myther for ages and ages. Well he picked me up from my seasonal job and drove us to P@H. I hadn't even said anything. He said he wanted to gove me a lift and let me pick out a pet from the adoption area. I picked out a really fat russian hamster who's family had had a change of circumstances and so had to rehome him. He's happily running on his wheel now. He is in my small cage tonight sadly as I wasn't expecting him and didn't want to pay P@H prices but will down at the local pet shop first thing in the morning. He's a cutie but I will take a picture later because my 6 year old brother shook the box and gave him a little fright I need ideas for a name anyway!

Re: don't quite know what just happened...

Aw I bet he's lovely, I love Russian hamsters they are my favourite hamsters. I have two Russians, both from pets at home. One was from the adoption bit but unfortunately he's got diabetes so he's not as active as the other Russian that I got the week before him.

What colour is he? Have you any pictures of him, I'd love to see him.

Re: don't quite know what just happened...

Thanks everyone, yes it was really nice it really cheered me up and I'm still allowed to collect the mice from rspca at the weekend just got to make space for everyone. Was going to take a pic last night but didn't want to startle him as he was a bit nervous. Seems settled and happy in his new tank today, waddling around (he's so fat) it putting things how he wants, so will take a picture when he wakes up again

Re: don't quite know what just happened...

This is Boris my little adopted diabetic hamster. He was called Boris when we got him and I couldn't think what else to call him.
