:( savage attack

I was just off to bed when I heard the most horrible screaming, I ran back downstairs and Bang had a hold of Pierce, he and Flash and Boom had him cornered in the cage and he was screaming. I will not be trying to bond the two groups again . Poor Pierce has a cut on his ear and a rip on his shoulder and his head and his neck, they really meant business. Im so glad I had a late night or I think I would be getting up to a dead rat. Luckily they are just superficial bites but my hands were covered in blood, he is covered in scratches, I know hes hairless so they scratch more easily but the poor little guy has had a terrible ordeal, I just hope he is going to get over it, hes screaming every time I try to put him back in the cage, he obviously doesnt know the terrible trio arent in there any more. Im so fed up and I feel so guilty for trying to bond the two rat groups

Re: :( savage attack

Oh poor baby. Hope he's ok today. I'm having similar issues at the mo, having added one boy to an existing group of 3. They are all brothers, but Lightning is just so stroppy it's untrue. Fights all over the place. I have him booked in for de nadding on Tuesday. Only the second castration I've had to have in 20 years of rat keeping. Give Pierce a big snuggle from me xx

Re: :( savage attack

AW TDM I hope he is ok..

Our Squeaky still screams and he is nearly a year old.. He is always having stand up confrontations.. He never suffers at their hands though.. He just isn't very bright..

Re: :( savage attack

Thankies for the replies, hes looking scared but ok today, his head tilt is back though so I will have to take him to the this week . I would consider having the terrible trio castrated but I think I'll probably just keep them in a group, they are fine together, it seems to be just when they get with any of the older or more shy boys that the bully boy tactics come in. Its a shame because they couldnt be any sweeter with people.

Re: :( savage attack

Poor baby. Hope he gets better. You tried really hard too. Would have been worth it if it had worked. Good idea to have a group if they can get along. Dont feel bad.

I think he will be fine when he figures he is safe. give him a tasty treat from me

Re: :( savage attack

One day later you can see how bad it was , I couldnt get any pics of his ear or his belly because hes so jumpy atm but you will get the idea from the pics, this all happened in less than a minute in the time it took me to get to the cage and open the door.
