Re: Do guinea pigs grieve?
Personally I think it depends on the relationship. I had two sisters Fleur and Flora and when Flora suddenly passed away with no warning Fleur just got on with it and was totally ok.
However, when I had Bupu and Maggie and Bupu passed away due to old age Maggie never looked up and never got over her best friends death. She too passed away four months later despute giving her the best care and trying to get her to mix with the other girls. Maggie too was an older sow at the age of 6. I've had boars just getting on with it too and not really grieving. However when we lost Cuzzy at six months old, Twinkle knew something was up and starting chirping like a bird, something that he had never done before. I do thing some guineas are more in tune than others. |
